Ceramic Coating FAQs

What makes FEYNLAB® self-healing ceramic coating different from regular ceramic coatings for cars?

FEYNLAB Self-Heal ceramic coating for cars contains an elastic polymer that reflows at about 60 °C to close micro-scratches under sunlight, whereas regular ceramic coatings cure rigid and cannot repair swirl marks on paint, PPF or wheels.

How long does a professional ceramic coating for cars last?

FEYNLAB professional ceramic coatings deliver five to seven years of protection on a daily-driver, with lab tests showing gloss and hydrophobic performance remaining after 250 automatic-wash cycles.

Is there a ceramic coating product I can apply at home?

Yes—our DIY Ceramic Lite kit provides two years of protection. For the best long-term gloss and durability, FEYNLAB’s professional ceramic coating products like Self-Heal, Ceramic V3 and Ceramic Plus must be installed by a certified applicator.

Will ceramic coating work on matte paint or satin PPF?

FEYNLAB Matte Ceramic seals pores without adding shine, so car ceramic coating works on matte paint and satin PPF while preserving the factory low-gloss finish.

How do I maintain my automotive ceramic coating?

Use a pH-neutral shampoo with a touchless wash method and mist FEYNLAB Silica Sealant every three months to sustain the hydrophobic, self-cleaning performance of your ceramic coating.

What surfaces can FEYNLAB ceramic coatings be applied to?

FEYNLAB offers ceramic coating products for paint, paint protection film (PPF), gel-coat and wheels, each formulated to bond at the molecular level and deliver durable gloss, water-beading and protection against UV fade, chemical etching and brake-dust pitting.

How soon after application can I wash my car paint coating?

You can expose a ceramic-coated surface to rain after 12 hours. Wait seven days before using detergents so the SiO₂ network fully cross-links for maximum durability.

Advanced Ceramic Coatings & Product Applications

FEYNLAB® ceramic coatings use nano-silica and polysilazane chemistry to form a 7–10 µm SiO₂ lattice on paint, PPF, wheels and gel-coat. The covalent bond delivers 9H hardness, blocks UV fade and chemical etching, and keeps a 110 ° water contact angle so mud, salt and brake dust rinse away.

Self-healing variants embed an elastomer segment that flows at roughly 60 °C, erasing wash swirls without polishing. Gloss, colour depth and DOI stay high for the life of the coating, a key resale lever for collector cars, fleets and lease returns.

These ceramic coating products cover every surface: Ceramic V3 for clear-coat, Matte Ceramic for low-gloss paint and satin PPF, Wheel & Caliper Ceramic stable to 750 °F, Marine Coat tuned for saltwater and diesel soot, and Industrial V2 that survives acids and 350 °F wash-downs. All share pH 2-12 chemical resistance and maintain hydrophobicity after 250 automatic-wash cycles.

Installation—decon wash, iron remover, clay, single-stage polish, IPA wipe, cross-hatch application and IR cure—locks the coating in place. VIN registration activates a 5–7 year written warranty and feeds performance analytics back to R&D. With shorter wash times, fewer polish sessions and longer gloss retention, total cost of ownership falls for enthusiasts and commercial operators alike.
